This comedians test for a good marriage is hilariously simple. The comedian, Erica Rhodes, believes that whenever this happens, it means her friends have a strong, happy marriage. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear what Erica says means that her friends have a good marriage.
Marriage, despite what television shows and movies might lead you to believe, is not easy. No one says, I do, kisses the bride and then rides off over the hillside where they find nothing but everlasting bliss and unbridled happiness. A marriage requires time, work and perseverance. There will be good days and bad days. There will be disagreements and arguments, and anyone who believes otherwise is simply fooling themselves, or, which is much more likely, they arent married.
Even the two most compatible people will not agree on every single topic. Agreeing with someone, even someone as close as a spouse, on every conceivable subject is an impossibility. Not only is that impossible, but it would be incredibly boring. But even with those, hopefully, minor disagreements, having a good, strong marriage is still very much doable.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Erica said that when this one thing happens, it means her friends have a strong marriage. So, what is this thing that means her friends are happily married? Well, she forgets that they are married at all, or when she completely forgets the name of the person whom her buddy is married to, and, as she explains it, it makes perfect sense.
The only way you know someone has a good marriage is if you never hear anything about it, she said. My girlfriends, who are in good marriages, they never mention the husband. Like, I dont even know if hes still there. Thats a really good sign.
The thinking goes that if her friends werent in good marriages, they would be complaining about her husband and how unhappy she is about the whole situation. That is not happening here, and therefore, it must mean that her friends are in happy marriages.
Genesis 2:24 For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they will be one flesh.
