Anjelah Johnson-Reyes had this unexpected thought during a medical emergency. The popular comedian admitted that this sentiment did enter her mind. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear what Anjelah momentarily thought during her husband’s medical emergency.
Pain, while it’s something that no one enjoys, is familiar to everyone, as we have all frequently experienced it. Unfortunately, pain is part of being human. Whether it be physical or emotional, it’s best to get used to pain because it’s not going anywhere. It’s around for the long haul.
Even though we may do everything we can to avoid and prevent pain, it will catch up with us, one way or another. We can’t get away from it forever. Not only that, but hurt and pain will leave bruises and scars in its wake. And if that sounds like an unpleasant and awful scenario, don’t worry, because that’s only because it is, but it is also very true.
However, while some pain and hurt can be extraordinarily excruciating, with the care, love and kindness of the people around us, it can be tolerable. Family and friends make life better, and that certainly includes instances of great pain and hurt. But there are also times when they may not be all that helpful, as Anjelah hilariously notes in a clip posted on YouTube.
She says that she had to take her husband to the hospital because he was suffering from kidney stones. Now, that sounds like an awful situation, and it has always been said that that is the worst pain that a man can experience. Given how Anjelah described her husband’s reaction, I can certainly believe it.
But, for a moment, while her husband was suffering, Anjelah did have a strange, odd thought.
“Because I’ll be honest, you guys, there were a couple of times where I did think to myself, like, ‘You need to man up,” she confessed.
Hopefully, that thought stayed in her head and wasn’t something that she said in that moment.
Job 30:17 “The flesh is gone from my bones, and they give me no rest; there is no end to my pains.”
