Nate Bargatze hilariously recalled his Career Day experience at his daughters school. The popular and wildly funny comedian mentioned how visiting his childs school on Career Day rapidly turned hysterically awkward. Watch the clip to hear how things quickly went downhill for him.
Unless theyve been born into an uber-rich family and are a trust-fund kid, most people will likely have to work for a living. Typically, that means embarking on a career. Considering how much time people must devote to and spend at their jobs, hopefully, its at least a halfway enjoyable career venture. No one wants to dread going to work. That would be a pretty miserable existence.
To help students get off on the right foot, on the path to an enjoyable and financially rewarding career, many schools have Career Day. This allows students to connect with and interact with people in a variety of fields. They have the chance to ask these people questions and learn about the day-to-day aspects of a job in a particular field.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Nate mentions that he attended Career Day for his daughter. Now, Nate is a comedian, and he understands that what he does is very fun and interesting. But, for him, things on Career Day didnt go the best, as he explains.
So, I was hoping to sit at a table alone, he said. They put me at a table with a surgeon, which I think they did it on purpose. Almost to show the kids, heres the difference between reading.
Later in the clip, Nate mentions interacting with kids and being asked questions about being a comedian.
So, the kids like come up and you know, theyre like, theyre like, What subjects do you use for comedy? he said. And I dont know what the subjects theyre taking. I was like, I do English. I do mostly English on stage.
Finally, the children, as Nate remembers, asked the surgeon and himself how much schooling they needed.
They asked him, How long do you have to go to school to be a surgeon? And you know, hes like, 54 years or whatever it is. And they asked me, How long to be a comedian? I was like, Youre good now.
In this short clip, Nate shows that he is one of the best stand-up comedians working today.
