Looking Back on the Year with Gratitude | Your Nightly Prayer

Dear God, As this year comes to a close, I pause to look back with gratitude. It wasn’t an easy year, but I can see now that You were with me through every moment. I thank You for sustaining me in uncertainty, for providing comfort in pain, and for giving strength when I felt weak. Help me choose gratitude in every circumstance—not because life is always good, but because You are. As I step into what’s ahead, I trust You with my future just as You have faithfully carried me through the past. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This Dad’s Take on Teamwork in Marriage Is Simple Yet Touching

This dad’s take on teamwork in a marriage is simple yet touching. His view of how a husband and wife should work together is powerful and heartwarming. Watch the short but moving clip to hear what this father and husband said about working together in a marriage relationship.

Marriage is a worthwhile and excellent endeavor. But like everything else worth having in this life, it does not come easily. Marriage requires commitment, perseverance, time and work from both parties. If any of those are missing from either person, then that marriage relationship will be rocky, to say the least.

As anyone who has been or is married understands, that relationship is a partnership. While both individuals should be giving equal effort in all areas of the marriage, sometimes that is not possible due to various reasons. So, when that isn’t an option, the other person can, momentarily, shoulder a greater share of the burden. When one is weak, the other can support, carry and uplift them. They are made greater because they are two instead of one.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a father explains his similar view of a marriage relationship. He understands that both should be doing half the work, but he also knows that this is not always possible.

“One of the things I like to say is, it’s not about being 50-50 on a given day,” he said. “It’s about being 50-50, roughly over a given decade.”

Later in the clip, he added that marriage is not necessarily about a perfect, 50-50 split, but about the other lifting the other up when they are not at their best.

“And I was like, it’s not about Susan and I being even every single day,” he added. “It’s about making sure on the days she’s at, like a 30, I can be at a 70. Or when I’m at a 30, she can be at a 70.”

Near the end of the clip, he added that when it comes to parents with small kids, doing this can be particularly difficult, but he and his wife still find ways to get through the day together when they aren’t running at optimal levels.

Genesis 2:24 “For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they will be one flesh.”

A Prayer for Those Struggling to Find Joy This Christmas | Your Daily Prayer

Christmas can be a season filled with beauty and hope, yet for many, it also highlights grief, loss, and emotional heaviness. As this devotional reminds us, celebrations don’t look the same every year—some seasons overflow with joy, while others are marked by sorrow. Still, Scripture assures us that God meets us tenderly in our pain. He is Immanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23), and He invites us to cast every anxiety on Him because He genuinely cares (1 Peter 5:7). Even when our hearts feel heavy, we can find lasting joy in the truth that Christ came to rescue us, redeem us, and bring the hope of eternal life. Joy may not always look like outward cheer, but it is a steady confidence anchored in the presence and love of Jesus.

Beloved 'Brady Bunch' Actress Ann B. Davis Shares Her Powerful Testimony

Beloved “Brady Bunch” actress Ann B. Davis shared her powerful testimony. She opened up about when and how she came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Watch the short yet moving clip to hear what the late actress said about what led her to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

“The Brady Bunch” is an iconic television show known and loved by millions worldwide. While the show may have ended its television run in the mid-1970s, it can still be easily found on TV. That’s because the show’s episodes have been replayed over and over again.

Even if you weren’t a fan of the show, you can probably still name a good number of the characters, or more likely, sing the program’s theme song, which is a definite earworm. It’s a show that all are familiar with, to say the least. Despite all the characters on the show, arguably, none were more beloved than Alice, the family’s wisdom-dispensing maid, played by Ann.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the latest actress discussed a variety of topics, including how she came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. What she says about her faith and how she came to know Him is beyond powerful and moving!

“I knew that I wanted to be in show business, but in the process of doing ‘The Brady Bunch,’ I began to feel that something was missing in my life,” Ann said. “I thought, ‘Gee, that’s pretty greedy of me. I’ve got everything going for me. I’ve paid off some debts that I got from the two successful series, and I own my own home. I have friends and all this. What is it I think I’m missing?’”

Ann quickly realized what she was lacking in her life.

“Well, I came to the conclusion that there’s a God-shaped space in everybody’s heart,” she said.
“And until you feel that space with God, you never know what it feels like to be whole and complete. And that’s what happened to me, I found the Lord. I mean, I was always a Christian, but I wasn’t always a practicing, living Christian.”

Later in the clip, she added that she had experienced a “testimony of affluence.”

“I’ve had everything the world has to offer,” she said. “God made me a better offer.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

The Joy of Giving | Your Nightly Prayer

Dear Jesus, It truly is better to give than to receive. Everything I have ever been given is because of your goodness. Help me never forget that truth. Shape my heart to reflect yours—a heart that gives freely, humbly, and sacrificially. Let my life echo your generosity and bring joy to those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Peace When Holidays Feel Heavy | Your Daily Prayer

The holiday season often carries a tension between joy and heaviness. While we celebrate the birth of Christ with wonder, expectations, busyness, grief, and change can steal our peace. In John 14:27, Jesus reminds His disciples that true peace doesn’t come from a perfectly executed holiday or a trouble-free life—it comes from Him alone. When our hearts feel overwhelmed by demands or sadness, we are invited to return to the Prince of Peace and receive the rich, lasting calm only He can give. This season, peace becomes possible not by doing more, but by turning our focus back to Jesus, who is always with us.

The Humility of Heaven | Your Nightly Prayer

Lord, It is easy to become focused on myself—my rights, my desires, my expectations. Help me fix my eyes instead on the humility of Jesus. Let His example reshape my attitude and my actions. Remove any entitlement within me and replace it with a servant’s heart. Reveal the places where I do not reflect Your character, and change me so I can love and serve as Christ did. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Welcome Christ into Our Hearts | Your Daily Prayer

God, as we enter this beautiful Christmas season, we welcome You into our hearts and our celebrations. Strengthen our faith through Your Spirit so that Christ may dwell in us fully. Help us stay rooted in Your truth, anchored in Your love, and attentive to the ways You are working around us. Give us soft, responsive hearts that reflect Your compassion, and make us ready to share the hope of Christ with those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christ, Our Hope | Your Nightly Prayer

Amid the commercial noise, the crowded schedules, and the pressure that often surrounds the Christmas season, it is easy to lose sight of what we are truly celebrating. At the heart of Christmas is hope—the birth of the One who came to redeem, restore, and reconcile us to God. Jesus is not just a source of hope; He is our only hope. He is the divine light breaking into the world’s deep darkness, fulfilling every promise spoken by the prophets. Long before Bethlehem, God announced His plan: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel." — Isaiah 7:14 Immanuel means “God with us.” Not distant. Not abstract. Not theoretical. God with us. Imagine the shepherds—social outcasts, considered unimportant by society—keeping watch on an ordinary night. Suddenly, their silence is interrupted by the glory of heaven: "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people… Today… a Savior has been born to you." — Luke 2:10–11 God chose the lowly to first hear this announcement. Their hope, and ours, arrived quietly in a manger but powerfully in purpose. The birth of Jesus demonstrates a truth we often forget: God always fulfills His promises, even when the wait is long and the path is unexpected. The hope Jesus brings is not temporary or fragile. It does not depend on circumstances, emotions, or achievements. This is hope that heals broken hearts, steadies anxious minds, and anchors our souls in something everlasting. The Holy Spirit fills us with this hope—so much so that it can overflow into the lives of others. As we celebrate Christ’s birth, we are invited to let His light shine in us and through us, offering the hope we have received to a world in need. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." — Romans 15:13 YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER Glorious Father in heaven, Thank You for the incredible hope You have given us in Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for the gift of His birth and for the mercy and grace this season represents. Forgive me when I become consumed by busyness and forget the eternal hope You have provided. Fill me again so that Your hope overflows from my heart into every part of my life. In the holy, precious name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
