Jesus teaches us that when it comes to rejection and violence and hatred, he has been there and done that. Those who follow him must not be surprised when they experience the same "because a student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. If they did this to me, they will do this also to you."
Pastor Doug explains from our Matthew reading, that Jesus promises to give rest to all who are weary, burdened, overwhelmed and over committed. We are invited to come just as we are.
