It is very humbling to take on our lips the words given to us by Jesus that despite all that we have done for him, we still remain "unworthy servants." Even our best efforts to please God are tainted and corrupted by the sin that remains within us, so any claim made that we or others may have "works of supererogation," or good works that more than satisfy God's perfect standard, is evidence of incredible pride and foolishness.
