Camp Discovery’s Bible Challenge is a Concordia exclusive, where campers are challenged to memorize Scripture by digging into God’s Word, solving Bible code, participating in science-fun activities, and singing verses put to song. At Bible Challenge, they’ll connect the Bible story, memory verse, and Take-Home Point to their lives and have fun with a new science activity at each lesson.
At Camp Discovery, our mushrooms, evergreen garlands, and pinecones create great centerpieces for your craft tables. We also suggest using finished crafts to inspire your campers with visual cues as they complete their crafts.

At Camp Discovery, active storytelling is essential. As the storytelling site leader, Jesus works through you to share the Bible stories as your campers hear, see, touch, and move about to reenact them. This year’s Bible stories include: God Makes David Bold; Deborah Judges with God’s Wisdom; God Saves Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; Jesus Gives Bartimaeus Sight; and God Sends Ananias to Saul.

At Camp Discovery, kids have fun being kids as they explore the Bible, make new friends, sing songs, and learn how Jesus works through them in their everyday lives. Our 2015 VBS takes kids on a high adventure to discover 5 Bible truths that excite and challenge them. Campers of all ages learn that God gives them the wisdom and the courage to step out in faith as Jesus works through them—whether they’re at school, playing with friends, or helping out at home.
In Lesson 2 Opening, Carter is sure he knows how to get to the chapel. However, he seems even more determined to find it once he's blindfolded and fails to rely on the wisdom Jeff can provide.
In Lesson 1 Closing, Jeff’s plan to impress Will didn’t work out so well! Sometimes, we’re like Jeff. We’re afraid, and we want to be more impressive. But at camp, Jeff discovers that God loves us no matter what. He promises to be with us and to give us courage to serve others in His name.
In Lesson 1 Opening, Jeff is afraid that he won’t impress Will, his new camp counselor. However, at Camp Discovery, campers will meet another young man named David who didn’t impress anyone when he showed up at Israel’s army camp. But David wasn’t afraid, because God gave him courage, just as Jesus gives us courage.
In Lesson 4 Closing, Will’s skill as a wilderness guide helps Carter trust Will and enjoy the forest! But the faith Jesus gives is a much bigger deal than that!
In Lesson 3 Closing, campers learn that it's okay to ask for help. God provides for all our needs by providing us parents, teachers, and friends who stand up for what's right and help us face life's challenges.
In Lesson 3 Opening, much to their surprise, Jeff and Carter have fun with their camp service project at the archery range! But while serving, Will learns that Jeff is having a hard time making friends at school. Campers, too, learn that they can help others by being a listening ear to their peers.
At Lesson 5 Closing, campers learn a valuable lesson. Just like Jeff and Carter, the lessons learned at Camp Discovery aren’t meant to stay at camp. God calls campers to share His love with their families, friends, and neighbors.
At Camp Discovery, storytelling is an important time for kids to engage and act out Bible stories! To decorate for this site, we suggest having plenty of space for kids to move around. Spread green tarps on the floor to identity where kids should sit, and use our backdrop to take kids back to Bible times! Additionally, our bedouin tent is made with two easy-up canopies, for a real Bible-times campsite!
