Scott Hamilton Reflects on His Adoption and the Powerful Ways God Was Moving

Scott Hamilton reflected on his adoption and how God was moving and working in that process. The Olympic gold medalist shared that he was adopted as a child, but also how, looking back, he can see that God was in control the whole time. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear how Scott sees God’s hand at work in his adoption.

Children are a gift and a blessing from the Lord above, and should be treated as such. Many would say children are the biggest blessing anyone can receive, and they are more than likely correct. For many people, becoming parents is a big desire, a dream. However, for one reason or another, a lot of couples cannot have children of their own.

Having biological children is not the only path to becoming parents. Adoption is a desperately needed, but sadly, often overlooked option. There are many children in this world who need good, safe and loving homes, and adoption is a way to provide that for little ones. In a clip posted on social media, Olympic skater Scott Hamilton shares how he was adopted and sees God’s hand at work, looking back all these years later.

The video begins with Scott saying that he was adopted as a child, stating that he was an “oops” and “unintended.” But, as he adds, he has learned that doesn’t mean he wasn’t wanted and loved.

“You know, it’s always that thing with adoption, right?” Scott said. “You know, there’s always that kind of a disconnect of, was I, I know I was unintended, but was I unwanted? And it’s really remarkable that now, all these 65 years later, you know, over the years, I really understood that God is in control. And He chose those parents for me.”

He adds how he will forever be grateful to his birth mother for “staying the course” and for being brave and generous enough to put him up for adoption, because he was eventually adopted by the two people God had selected to be his parents – two schoolteachers from northwestern Ohio.

Ephesians 6:4 “And, you fathers, do not make your children angry: but give them training in the teaching and fear of the Lord.”

Homeless Man’s Powerful, Moving Testimony Will Touch Your Heart

This homeless man’s powerful and moving testimony will touch your heart. The unexpected conversation and series of events he experienced and shared will likely cause you to shed a tear or two or three. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear the man’s testimony and how the hand of the Lord was at work in his life.

If there is one thing to learn from God’s Word, it is that we are all sinners who desperately need God’s forgiveness and love. Without His mercy and grace, none of us would have a chance. Eternal damnation would await us all if not for God’s unrelenting and undeserved forgiveness and love.

However, even after accepting Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, human beings do not become perfect. We remain flawed individuals who can still be tripped up, stumble and fall. Perfection is not possible when it comes to humanity. But even when we stumble and fall, He is faithful to forgive and quick to love.

A clip posted on YouTube captures one man’s powerful testimony of how God was working and active in His life. The man who admits he’s homeless, currently living in a hotel and is battling addiction shows that God is fully aware of what we’re dealing with and going through and how He can and will meet those needs.

While on his way to get something to eat, a house catches the man’s eye, leading to a conversation with an individual. During their conversation, both men, named Brian, share that they are committed followers of Christ.

Moments into their conversation, the homeless man is unexpectedly offered a job.

“You know what the first thing this man asked me?” the man recalled. “Do I need a job?”

But the Lord wasn’t done yet. The homeless man’s phone was scheduled to be shut off tomorrow. The other man paid his cell phone bill on the spot and even gave him some money.

“I’m talking about how good God is, right?” he said. “He put some money; the man put some money in my pocket. He shared his story with me about how Jesus, how God pulled him out of addiction, how God has changed his life and put a whole business in his hands. And now I’m sitting here talking to this man, and he’s opening up his arms to me. Do y’all hear me? In recovery, in AA, they all say nobody’s coming for you. Nobody’s coming for you. God just showed up for me.”

What a wonderful and powerful testimony about God’s goodness and love!

Deuteronomy 10:17 “For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of Lord, the great God, strong in power and greatly to be fear, who has no respect for any man’s positions and takes no rewards:”

Dolly Parton Opens Up About the Loss of Her Husband, Carl Dean

Dolly Parton opened up about the loss of her husband, Carl Dean. The entertainment legend remembered her beloved husband in an interview on The Today Show, talking about what he meant to her and how she’s coping with the loss. Watch the short but moving clip as Dolly talks about life since losing her husband.

Unfortunately, in life, we will all experience painful and agonizing situations. Pain, hurt and heartache are unavoidable. They are, sadly, facts of life, and there will be circumstances that will undoubtedly result in unexplainable sorrow and grief. Living on Earth without going through a fair share of agonizing and devastating experiences is impossible.

Easily and without question, one of the most sorrowful and grief-stricken experiences is losing a spouse. When that happens, it can often feel like losing a part of yourself. There is arguably no closer relationship on Earth than that between spouses, and whenever that connection is broken with one of them passing away, it is often absolutely devastating. Doing life without this person can feel next to impossible, a monumental and nearly impossible task.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Dolly talked about the passing of her husband, Carl Dean. She understandably gets choked up talking about the loss and how deeply his death has impacted her. The two were married for nearly 60 years.

“I’ve loved him since I was 18 years old,” she said. “And, it’s a big adjustment. Just trying to change patterns and habits, and I’ll do fine. And I’m involved in my work, and that’s been the best thing that could happen to me. But I’ll always miss him, of course, and always love him.”

Following her husband's passing, Dolly said many people reached out to her. She received a ton of cards, letters and flowers from people all over the world.

Losing a loved one, especially a spouse, is always painful, and our prayers are with Dolly and her family.

Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Woman Shares the One and Only Way Humans Can Please God

A woman shared the one and only way humans can please God. Her powerful words and message show how fallen humans are and God’s immense and unending love for us. Watch the short but moving clip to hear the only thing people can do to make God happy and please him.

The world is a fallen and broken place, full of hurting and struggling people. No one would have a chance without Christ’s love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. We would all be destined for an eternity, lost and separated from Him, where there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a woman beautifully and powerfully explains the one thing we can do to please God. And because of our fallen nature, it’s not what we do but what Jesus Christ can and does for us.

“Like, I’ve met people who feel like, ‘Oh, my past is too crazy. I’m not good enough. I don’t know how Jesus can use me; how Jesus can love me,’” she said. “And the reality is none of us are, you know, in our own strength, in our own ability – none of us are good enough.”

Later in the clip, she mentions the Holy Spirit descending upon Jesus, what God said about His Son and how that relates to us today.

“And the Father said, ‘This is my Son in whom I am well pleased,’” she said. “Now, that moment was not just a random thing. It was that God the Father was revealing to humanity: the only way you can please me is in Him. This is the One who pleases me, and you cannot please me outside of Him.”

God sent His only Son and completely changed everything. Christ willingly went to the cross, suffered and died on our behalf. In doing so, He completely and forever won victory over sin, shame and death. We can be forgiven and experience eternal life because He was forsaken and broken for you and me.

Matthew 17:5 “While he was still talking, a bright cloud came over them: and a voice out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased; give ear to him.”
