From the compilation album "Make Us One", this is Sheri Easter singing a mother/daughter song called "Handful Of Weeds". Harmony is by Pamela Furr and Tanya Goodman Sykes. Moms are so wonderful, they do so much for us and expect so little in return. To them the smallest little gift is beautiful as long as it comes from the heart. In that regard I think moms mirror Jesus Christ.
Not so much a Christmas song, it's an adoption song. It's a very special song to me since a couple of families in my church have adopted children from China. What a sweet, sweet song this is.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's a duet by Twila Paris and Dennis Jernigan, written by Dennis. From the awesome album "Hands Lifted High", which features Dennis singing duets of songs that he has written. His duet partners include Twila Paris, Natalie Grant, Christy Nockels, Jeff Deyo, Rebecca St. James, etc. I highly recommend this album. Thank you, Dennis, you are such a talent. And Twila is at her best here.
This song is known as a Christmas carol, of course. But there are very few lines in this song that relate to Christmas. It's mostly a song about joy, and we should be joyful in the Lord all year long. If you take your mind out of the context of Christmas (and that's OK, bear with me), this is a song we can sing year-round. I see so many people out in the world who are *not* joyful, and do you know why? They don't know the Lord. They have nothing to be truly joyful about. Oh, yeah, they may be having a good time, but that is not true joy, it's an empty, hedonistic, self-centered joy. That's not the type of joy God wants for us. Anyway, this is a modernized version of "Joy To The World", originally written by Isaac Watts. Shannon added a new chorus. I typically don't like the modernization of traditional hymns, but I'll make an exception in this case. I've probably sung "Joy To The World" 1,000 times in church, and it's nice to have a new freshness.
This is an upbeat song of joy about loving God, our strength and refuge. Don Moen is leading the singing, recorded at CBN studios. Lenny LeBlanc is in there, too. The song was written by Lamont Hiebert. Sing for joy!
Does the world really need another 23rd Psalm song? Well, yes, I guess so, since this one is beautiful. Written by King David with a little bit of help from Steve Merkel. Leann Albrecht sings harmony along with Don Moen's lead vocal. I've always loved Leann; she has backed up many well-known artists, including Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Darlene Zschech, Twila Paris, Amy Grant, Kim Hill, Women of Faith, Maranatha Singers, and many others.

A nice version of the classic P&W song "Knowing You", written by Graham Kendrick. This is Kathy Troccoli's tender rendition. I guess many people don't realize that the words of this song are a paraphrase of Paul's words in Philippians 3:7-11. Paul had a wonderful way of putting everything into perspective, and this song is a prime example of that.
Wow, I just went back and listened to my old "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" CDs, volumes 1 and 2, going back nearly 40 years. What fantastic stuff! What a collection of talent! Here's a video I made for Ricky Skaggs and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band members Jeff Hanna, Jimmy Ibbotson and Bob Carpenter singing "Little Mountain Church House", from volume 2. Look at these musicians!
Lead vocal & guitar: Ricky Skaggs Harmony vocal: Jeff Hanna Harmony vocal: Jimmy Ibbotson Harmony vocal & accordion: Bob Carpenter Drums: Jimmie Fadden (another NGDB member) Piano: Buck White Banjo: Bela Fleck Guitar: Randy Scruggs (you know his father) Mandolin: Mark O'Connor (sorry, no fiddle in this one, so he gets the mandolin) Dobro: Jerry Douglas (who else?) Upright bass: Roy Huskey, Jr. (RIP)
Video clip of Easter Sunrise service in my city of Stockton, California. Former number 1 worst city in the entire United States based on a 2010 Forbes magazine article. Yet Stockton christians still come togetherand continue to pray for our city and worship our King Jesus Christ!
I was asked to make a video for this beautiful song by Christy Nockels (yes, I do take requests!) This song is from her wonderful CD "Life Light Up". This is the fourth video I have made from this CD. This CD is certainly worth checking out. Pretty basic message in this song - Jesus loves us no matter who we are, and he saved those who believe that he died for their sins. Thank you Jesus, and thank you God for sending Your Son on our behalf. We are undeserving, but we are grateful.
