In her book, “The Envy of Eve,” Author Melissa Kruger helps us understand how seemingly harmless desires and questions like this grow into the sin of covetousness. Envying the relationships, circumstances, possessions, and abilities of others chokes out the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives, allowing discontentment to bloom. The key to overcoming is to get to the root of our problem: unbelief—mistrusting God’s sovereignty and goodness. (“The Envy of Eve: Finding Contentment in a Covetous World,” Christian Focus, 2013)

Tricia Brock (now Baumhardt) is best known as a lead vocalist with Superchick ("Stand In The Rain", etc). This is a song from her solo album "The Road", written by Jennie Lee Riddle ("Revelation Song") and Don Chaffer. That's her father singing the nice harmony. The concept of brokenness is somewhat difficult and confusing. The song talks about Jesus' power to heal, but then it says that we must be broken. I think what that means is that we must admit that we are sinners (Romans 3:23), and then confess our sins (1 John 1:9), and admit that we are broken. Then forgiveness and healing will follow.

Chronic neck and spinal pain miracle healing - John Mellor Healing Ministry. https://www.johnmellor.org These miracles & healings happen because of the reality of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that Jesus is the Son of God and that the only way to eternal life is to believe in Jesus and accept Him into your life. Jesus came to earth as a man to buy back what was lost when Adam & Eve disobeyed God and fell from paradise in the Garden of Eden to Earth, and sin entered the world. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross broke the power of sin. Whoever believes in Jesus and repents of their sin will be forgiven and have eternal life: Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, June 23, 2013): Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun. However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is meaningless. Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment. So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless. Ecclesiastes 11:7-10 (NIV)
