This Ed Sheeran soundalike earns the golden buzzer with a ‘Perfect’ audition on ‘Portugal’s Got Talent.’ Yasin Safa, an 18-year-old medical student, amazed the judges and audiences around the world with his impressive performance of Ed Sheeran’s song, ‘Perfect.’ He shared that he was in Portugal on vacation with his family but got stuck there when Covid restrictions started. Now, he has over 12,000 followers on Instagram. He probably had no idea how his life was going to change when he got stuck! Yasin was born in Iran but has lived in China for most of his life. He fluently speaks English and Mandarin and is now learning Portuguese. I guess that would be the logical next step if you ended up living in a new country by accident! He only started playing guitar and singing in the past few years if you can believe it! He has played piano and violin for around 10 years so it’s easy to tell where his musical talent comes from. Even though he seems shy, Yasin definitely has some bravery to sing such a well-known and loved song! ‘Perfect’ debuted as a single off of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’ album in 2017. Immediately, the emotional song topped charts in the US, UK, and Australia. Everyone fell in love with this authentic love song. Darling, just hold my hand Be my girl, I'll be your man I see my future in your eyes Imagine a man just saying something like this to you, let alone singing it in a voice as lovely as Ed’s and Yasin’s. Amazing. I’m sure this song has been used at countless weddings and for plenty of singing auditions. But I can’t believe that there’d be a moment more special than Yasin getting the golden buzzer for his beautiful performance!

It is always sweet to see a father/daughter relationship. In this video, a dad fights back tears as his daughter sings in the car on the way to graduation. Jewell Richins drove his daughter to her high school graduation. While they drove, he filmed their last ride of her senior year. On the journey, she sang a beautiful song. He appears to be a single dad who loves listening to his daughter’s voice. While she hits sweet, soft notes to her melody you can see the father possibly reflecting on the memories of her growing up. He holds back tears and smiles, even laughing at moments. Only the dad truly knows what was going on in his head. We all experience the end of seasons and the beginning of new adventures in life. Emotions are part of the gift of being human. Whether you recently went through a life change or are about to experience one, this video will remind you that you are not alone and that there is beauty in the transformation. Even looking at this imperfect earthly father beaming over his daughter in the car, reminds me of the greater love that is given from our Heavenly Father. His care for us and delight in us are so much greater than anything we can imagine. He is proud when we honor Him and celebrates the victories of life with us just like this dad. Whether you have an earthly father or not, this clip will remind you of God’s great love for you. “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13

Millions of people around the world have reported seeing angels appear by their sides shortly before they shed the skin of this world before moving on to eternity. Doctors, nurses, and loved ones have also witnessed heavenly lights in the form of angels. In this video, a camera captures an angel rising above a helicopter after a patient passes away. While some people explain angels appearing at deathbeds as a hallucination—this video makes a hard case that there are angels all around! There are angels who come to tend to us, talk to us, and lead us home. In fact, the Bible tells us God commands his angels to protect us and carry out God’s will. There’s even a story in the New Testament about a beggar man named Lazarus. When he died, angels carried him to heaven (Luke 16:22). So, could the angel captured in this video be an angel helping the patient who died get to his eternal destination? As the helicopter prepares to take off, the sighting was captured on camera. The chopper begins to lift off the ground and hover when a glowing silhouette shoots out of the helicopter before disappearing. Some believe the silhouette was an angel taking the patient home. Others think it was dust from the helicopter blades and some debate stating it was the turbo blow-off valve releasing pressure. When the video was posted online, it quickly racked up over 124,000 shares. One viewer posted, “The soul leaves the body at death, also the Bible says, as sure as you have an earthly body, at death you'll take on a spiritual body....and this is it leaving the physical body.” Another viewer posted, “Wow, praise God. He is real.” The image captured on camera reminds us we have no fear of death because we will be going to our heavenly homes with a friend by our side. God will dispatch his angels at just the right time for each of us! This video is an amazing visual of the supernatural surrounding us. “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;” Psalm 91:11

I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this before. In this incredible video, the magician Dustin Tavella shares his tear-jerking story through his AGT audition. Dustin starts out sharing that he is from Virginia Beach, Virginia as the crowd cheers. He seems like a kind and laid-back guy as he proudly introduces his wife and son. Dustin tells of his joy in sharing a combination of the two types of “magic.” The first is the performance on a stage and the second is “when one individual makes a decision to positively impact another human life forever.” He proceeds to have each of the four judges complete a task. Heidi has a deck of cards to shuffle and selects one card, then holds it secretly. Sophia has a calendar of the month of February and must circle any date. Howie gives a last name and writes it down on a piece of paper. Dustin has Simon write down any random time on a piece of paper. Lastly, he asks Terry to share “one inspiring word that sums up his heart and his passion.” Terry answers, “Power.” After each task is complete, Dustin shares that he and his wife adopted Zander when he was two months old. First, he pulls a polar bear stuffed animal out of the box and has Heidi turn her card, revealing a polar bear. Next, Dustin has Terry pull up the email which reveals two pictures of the adoption day and Zander sitting in a box. Sophia shares that the date she circled was February 21, 2020, which was the adoption date on the box in the picture. Then, it said “Judge Smith” on the box which was the last name randomly selected by Howie. Afterwards, they ask Simon what time he wrote and it was 7:04. Terry zooms into the picture and reveals the time on the clock is 7:04. Everyone is in total shock. Finally, Dustin tells the audience that they are not the heroes of the story, but the birth mother is the one to be honored. He asks Terry what word he selected as Terry says, “power.” He instructs Terry to go to the next picture and it reveals the birth mother holding a sign that says the word, “power.” The crowd goes wild and every single judge joins in giving a standing ovation. As a believer this makes me reflect on the mystery of God and how He has made known Himself to us, but as we journey through life, there will always be things to learn. Part of the joy is the mystery. “He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.” Ephesians 1:9-10

This adorable 10-year-old boy gives Simon goosebumps with his ‘All By Myself’ audition. Incredibly talented kids seem to keep getting younger and younger! Peter Rosalita from the Philippines sings like a famous pop star. Even judge Heidi Klum said, “Mariah [Carey] better watch out!” When he first came on the stage, he told the judges he was very nervous. When asked what he would do with the million-dollar prize if he won, he said he would buy a Nintendo Switch. What a classic kid answer -- a video game! He also mentioned that he’d buy a laptop for his online school. So at least it’s not all games! Peter looks so cute and professional in his all-white suit to sing a song from 1975! He’s like a little adult at 10! I love him! The judges told him they were rooting for him having no idea if he’d actually bring some talent to the stage. Despite his shaky opening, Peter blew everyone’s minds when he belted the chorus. All by myself Don't want to be all by myself anymore All by myself Don't want to live all by myself anymore Eric Carmen originally recorded the classic song, ‘All By Myself’ in the ‘70s, but a handful of singers have recorded covers since. Celine Dion’s version comes to mind when I think of someone singing the tune. I can’t imagine anyone not recognizing the chorus of this song, no matter their age. But I still can’t believe little Peter chose this as his audition! The judges were clearly amazed and fell in love with him. Howie Mandel said, “You’re so cute!” And Peter responded, “Everyone says that I’m cute!” That little sass that he probably doesn’t intend to be sass just makes him even cuter. I can’t handle him! As we know, Simon can be quite a nightmare when judging people’s acts -- even children. When it came to him for comments, he said, “That was an incredible audition. There were parts in the song that literally gave me goosebumps.” It’s not every day that the Simon Cowell gets goosebumps, and 10-year-old Peter managed to blow Simon’s socks off. Obviously, Peter got a yes from all four judges. We are rooting for you, Peter!

There has always been something so special and relational about elephants. In this hilariously touching video, a jealous elephant doesn't want to share his human. The video takes place at the Elephant Nature Park. Faa Mai is the elephant you see to the right of the woman and Thong Ae is to her left. As the three walk side by side, the woman begins to show love to Thong Ae. Faa Mai then sneakily wraps his trunk around the caretaker by grasping her by the arm and pulling her out of the hug. It is absolutely hysterical watching the woman be moved around by the massive elephant as she is completely amused. The enormous creature then holds her with his truck wrapped around her body moving the woman along with him away from the other elephant. She giggles and tries not to lose her hat in the process. Elephants are amazing mammals who clearly show affection. This woman evidently cultivated a relationship with these animals. Just as a child might pull his mother away from another sibling, we see how this elephant almost acts like a kid. Just as this caretaker tends to the needs of the animals, our Heavenly Father cares for us. In the same way, we can model His love and care for the animals. His creations point to His majesty. “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:4-9

I love good animal videos. There is something intriguing about getting an up close view of creatures so different from us. It makes it even better when the animal shows off a special skill. The Denver Zoo recently released a video of a rhino celebrating his birthday by playing the piano. Kelli Bender says, “Bandhu, a male greater one-horned rhino, turned 12 on May 18.” This is not just any rhino, but an Asian Rhino. They are an amazing exotic species of mammals. Amelia Meyer says, “In general, they live to be about 35 to 50 years of age.” In other words, Bandhu has a long life ahead of him and his skills in music could continue to flourish. I love how his caretaker got artistic and brought the fun to her strong rhino friend. In this video, a portable piano is brought to Bandhu the rhino. He adorably sticks his mouth out of the fence and begins to play the keys with his lips. There is no recognizable tune being played, but you can tell that the rhinoceros is having a good time exploring the sounds and creating his own melodies. By the end of the video, Bandhu is rewarded with a delicious treat for his big day. From the beginning of time God gave mankind the job to look after and keep the animals. We have a responsibility to be good stewards of whatever is in front of us. The Denver Zoo models this through a sweet relationship between the rhino and his zookeeper. As we enjoy looking at this majestic creature in the clip, may we reflect on the creativity of our God to make Bandhu and share in the joy as we see the great care from the zookeeper. “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds;” Proverbs 27:23

Listen as this talented bird sings along with his owner during a guitar duet. I can’t get enough of him! Tico the parrot loves the spotlight -- and his colorful feathers were made to shine! His owner, Frank Maglio, started playing guitar and singing around the house, and after a while, Tico joined in. Even though parrots are known as talented imitators, Frank knew his feathered son had something special. Once Frank uploaded a video of their beautiful music, they became internet stars. Tico was clearly born for a life of fame. Just look at his power stances as he hits those notes! In the clip, Frank plays chords on his acoustic guitar next to Tico who is perched on top of his cage. The bird’s notes seem incredibly dramatic. He moves all around the top of his cage as he flawlessly executes his one-of-a-kind riffs. This talented little bird gained almost 150,000 subscribers with only a handful of videos uploaded to his Youtube account. That’s pretty impressive, buddy! All of the comments on the video express support and love for the rising musical duo. But let’s be honest, Frank is just there for instrumentals. Tico is what the people really want. Tico shared his musical light with the world when everything seemed dark during the pandemic. We all needed some lighthearted laughs and smiles. Now, Tico and Frank are still sharing musical content with the internet. We hope these special music makers continue to bring joy through music. I know I’m a fan! And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Watch the cuteness unfold as this momma cat introduces 1-week-old kitten to the dog. While mom is getting situated, the dog seems to get within inches of the kitten. Whether the kitten can see yet or not, it can sense a large creature getting real close. Uh-oh! Where’d mom go? Mommy cat turns around and gets in between them to give her baby some space. Once she settles next to the dog in a spot she can control the situation, the pitbull begins sniffing in the tiny fluffball’s direction. Even though the dog is laying down too, he stretches his neck out to get as close as possible to the baby without triggering momma. But momma still doesn’t like that -- after all, the kitten’s eyes might not even be open yet. She has to be the eyes for her baby! Mom reaches her paw out to gently touch the dog’s nose as if she’s saying, “No touch. Just look.” Ha! Just like a human mom would in a store with her kids! The pitbull respectfully inches its head back. He probably knows that nobody messes with momma! This sweety and its fellow pitbulls don’t deserve their aggressive stereotype. They’re gentle creatures! Since the kitty’s eyes are probably still closed, momma kitty stretches her arm toward her baby as if she’s rubbing the kitten’s back to let it know she’s still right there. That’s a good combination of space and support for effective parenting! Way to go, momma! Although there isn’t sound, I’m sure that kitten was meowing everyone’s ears off! They tend to do their tiny talking in unfamiliar situations. Good luck to this new mommy (as if she needs it!) and good luck to the pitbull as the baby grows -- the kitten will probably start harassing the dog as soon as its eyes open!

This curious cat is stunned when owner spins a coin, and I can’t hand the cuteness! The little orange kitty can’t believe her eyes. This is some type of magic! No way that coin can just keep spinning! While sitting in her dad’s lap, she’s introduced to a neat party trick. Her dad takes some type of board game coin and spins it on its edge right in front of her. She has her paw up as if she’s about to whack it but then covers her face. “Dad?! What is this sorcery?!” - the cat, probably Animals’ reactions to new and foreign objects is almost always amusing. This reminds me of the videos of cats reacting to cucumbers! Dad takes the coin and spins it again. The goofy kitty almost covers her eyes in complete shock. But the next time he spins the coin, the cat seems a little more comfortable -- more interested instead of scared. She lifts her paw to her nose instead of covering her eyes. What’s she going to do the next time that evil coin starts dancing?! The dad spins it again. It looks as if shes going to lift her paw to cover her face… but then she attacks! Both paws on top of that coin! She got it! We are all so proud of you, you precious creature! She then pulls it closer to the edge and attempts to bite it or pick it up. What a goofball! This is definitely one of those videos that you can’t help but play over and over again. The reactions are just too weird and too cute to get over after watching it just once. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25

One elderly lady’s day could have been ruined without the aid of a thoughtful truck driver who used his lift to help her avoid a huge mud puddle. It’s no fun to head out sporting your bright white tennis shoes only to realize that you have to go through a monster mess to get to your car. However, this gentlemanly truck driver, along with his partner, helped one lovely lady keep her feet clean by taking a few minutes in his day to make a path through the puddle. We sometimes hear the expression “chivalry is dead,” but this driver demonstrates that is not the case. At a time when lots of bad behavior is captured on film, it sure is nice that this good deed was documented. Bidfood’s truck driver and his off-camera partner work together to back up the truck and make sure the lift is in perfect position. He then gives the lady a hand as she steps onto the lift while carrying her purse and cane. He watches as she walks safely above the water below, and takes a big step down and directly into her car. They exchange a few words and she is all set to go, her feet still clean and dry. By the way, we think she is in pretty good shape to manage those critical first and last steps, too! Bidfood is a wholesale food company based in the United Kingdom with operations all over the globe—South Africa, Scotland, Australia, and Lithuania, which is where this kind driver happens to be working. Bidfood’s slogan is “Inspired by You.” How fitting! On this particular day and caught on TikTok, a Bidfood employee inspired others. It usually doesn’t take a lot to show a bit of kindness. In this case, a few moments, a bit of creativity, and the motivation to make another person’s day just a bit better was all that was needed. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” Galatians 5:22

A more beautiful combination of music and sport would be hard to find when compared to Lolly Barnsbee’s chilling skate routine set to Carly Waddell’s rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” We most often think of Judy Garland singing this classic song while portraying Dorothy Gale in the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz. But, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” has been recorded by several amazing artists, including Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, Willie Nelson, Israel “Iz” Kamakawiwo’ole, Ariana Grande, Katharine McPhee, and Carly. Carly’s 2019 recording is part of her extended play record entitled “Dream Train,” which includes a few lullabies. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is one of those timeless tunes that leaves arms tingling and souls singing. Even though Dorothy may have wanted to be anywhere but Kansas, those watching Lolly’s performance at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado were likely thrilled to be right there! Lolly, at 10 years old, is a Juvenile U.S. Figure Skater and training for the Olympics—clearly quite an athlete and an artist! Lolly spins and jumps and glades across the rink, and we see the lovely rainbow pattern peek out from the under-side of her sky blue skirt. Her routine seems effortless, and she gives a little smile at the conclusion of her performance. And, one wonders what great things this little girl will do. After singing the most remembered song from The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy falls into a deep sleep and is literally blown away, house and all, to another world. She learns lessons traveling the yellow brick road with her companions, who have a hard time tapping into their personal resources of heart, brains, and courage. On the other hand, young Lolly is already sharing her gifts with the world. What a blessing that is! As she skates, we are also blown away by the performance of this young girl who surely has learned the value of hard work and of the talents God has given her. “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;” Romans 12:6

It is something very special when two incredible singers join forces and create powerful harmonies. That is exactly what happened in this video when Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn sang a medley of Loretta songs. Two of the most well-known women of country music are Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. Both of these ladies are front runners for the genre and have both had lifelong success as performers. Today, Loretta is 89 years old and Dolly is 75. Their opening song was “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” This is a special connection for both women since they each have conquering stories of being born into financially struggling families. Dolly grew up as one of twelve kids in the great smoky mountains of Tennessee and Loretta grew up in a small shack as a daughter of a coal miner in Kentucky. Both women used their skills of songwriting and singing to share their stories and build their careers. Both musicians have won countless Grammy awards and country music awards. They are chart-topping queens of the country genre, however, instead of keeping the stage to themselves, these artists chose to share one. Dolly helps give a tribute to all the many songs that Loretta produced by singing alongside her in this video. The two seem to share a genuine friendship and sisterhood. Between Loretta’s soulful alto voice and Dolly’s saucy soprano melodies, the two powerhouses join together in an amazing performance. The ladies sang a medley of popular songs of Loretta Lynn while Dolly made complimentary comments in between. She even humorously claimed that her mother was a huge fan of one of the songs “for obvious reasons.” The friendly banter makes the entire video even more entertaining. I love the way that Dolly honored Loretta Lynn above herself. This performance was a beautiful example of Romans 12:10, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
