We are officially mid-October and I hope everyone is enjoying a glorious fall. This week is all about apples here at C’est si Bon. I have picked up a few bags and promised my family an apple crisp this week. I hope you’ve had a chance to go apple picking or at least pick up some of your favorites.
This week I had some friends asking me which apples are best for eating, baking, etc., so I wrote a little apple guide for reference. It’s not exhaustive, but I included most of my favorite apples to eat and to bake with, whether I’m picking them in an orchard or buying them in a store. I hope it’s helpful.
I know last week I included a recipe for apple crisp, and I am adding it again into this week’s apple recipe roundup.
Also included is the rose apple tart I wrote about a year ago, and a crisp apple and arugula salad, in case you were looking for something else to do with your apples, besides bake them. I hope you enjoy and have a great week!
